Dance Styles

Tiny Tots: (3,4 years) incorporating basic ballet and jazz, creative dance, and mime. Tiny Tots class develops locomotive skills and musicality.
Ballet - Royal Academy Of Dance (RAD): Pre Primary (ages 5 by 31/12/2008), Primary (age 6 by 21/12/2008), Grade 1-5 (age 7 and up). Training in classical ballet is the basis for all other dance styles. RAD inspires a sense of physical and mental confidence while developing good posture and bodily expression. Exam and presentation classes are held during term 3. Students attending 2 ballet lessons a week are eligble to sit exams, 1 lesson a week students may participate in presentation class.
Theatre Class: A ballet class away from the set syllabus focussing on developing technique and artistry. Theatre Class incorporates solos and group work (corps de ballet) which enhances individual performance as well as group dynamics. Theatre Class can only be attended as a supplement to RAD ballet students.
JFH-JAZZ/Funk/Hip Hop: Often associated with musicals, pop videos & film. Stylised warm ups, combinations and routines all age specific. Jnr JFH (K-yr 1) Elem entaryJFH (yrs 2,3) IntermediateJFH (yrs 4,5), Snr JFH (yrs 6,7), Advanced JFH (yrs 8 &up), ADULTS all ages welcome. Sense of humour a must!
JFH Boys only: Stylised combinations of street funk, hip hop and pop. (7-12yrs).
Tap: Based on the Glenn Wood sylabus. A combination of old and modern used in musicals e.g. 42nd Street, Steel City, Billy Elliot and epitomised by Fred Astaire. Jnr Tap (K-1,2) Elementary Tap (yrs3,4,5) Intermediate Tap(yr 6-up).
Adults tap: Classes for the beginner, old time tapper or for those who just love tap dancing. Tap classes are taught by teacher and choreographer Janine Gardiner.
Contemporary: Experience the joy of movement while developing body awareness and achieving suppleness and agility. Discover using the body as an instrument of expression and communication. Deriving from ballet, contemporary style as seen on the TV Show "So you think you can Dance". (Grade 4 ballet/Snr JFH students and up).
All Students participate in the end of year concert held in December.
Bodyline Dance Academy has gained a reputation for its energy, commitment and professionalism and often gets asked to perform at Festivals, Shows, Charity Performances and special events. Students are chosen at the discretion of the Principal.
